WHAT IS COMPUTER?
"A computer is an electronic device for storing and processing data,typically in a binary form,according to instructions given to it in a variable program."
A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information or data. It has the ability to store,retrieve and process data and used to process data and used to type documents,send email,play games and browse the web.
A computer is not an acronym and sometimes abbreviated as PC(personal Computer).The term "computer" was originally given to humans (human computers)who perform numerical calculations using mechanical calculators, such as the abacus and slide rule. The term was later on given to a mechanical device as they began replacing the human computers today's computers are electronic devices that accept data (input),process the data ,produce output the then store the results.
A computer is a device that accepts data or information (in the digital data form) and manipulates it for some result based on a programs or sequence of instructions on how the data to be processed.A program may be invariable and built into the computer(are called logic circuitry as it is on microprocessors)or different program may be provided to the computer (loaded in to its storage unit and then started by an administrator or user).

More precisely, a computer is a device that operates upon data. it takes through input devices, process them (through CPU) and produces the desired output devices. The computer does not understand human language,it world's in binary mode i.e. 0 and 1 (two state operation).
The data on which computer performs operations is of various size and shape depending on the type of computer application. Since ,a computer process data,therefore it is sometimes called data processor and the activity of processing data using a computer is called data processing.
